Wendy: It was a lot of fun until the cops came.
Stephen: Somebody called the cops? Why?
Wendy: We were being too noisy. The party was in an apartment, so I assume one of the neighbors got fed up with all the noise and called the cops.
Stephen: I understand being annoyed by the noise, but they still shouldn't have called the cops. They should have asked you to be quiet first.
Wendy: I agree, but everything was okay in the end. The cops just asked us to be quiet and then left. Shortly after that, the party ended.
Stephen: It's too bad that the party ended, but at least nobody got in trouble.
